National Privacy Principles

As of 21 December 2001, Hardware Software Anywhere ("HSA") is bound by the National Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000. which regulates, among other things, the collection, storage, quality use and disclosure of personal information

What information is not covered?

Employee records (as that term is defined in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000) held by HSA are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Information collected

We only collect personal information (when submitted) in order to provide you with our services or when you choose to take part in a survey. Your personal information we receive from you shall be managed responsibly in our secure environment.

Use of information collected

We will only use personal information you have provided to us for the purpose it was collected in the first place. eg: training and product notification and providing ongoing support as agreed.

When collecting information from you or if you are receiving direct marketing material from HSA and no longer wish to we will offer you to exercise an Opt-In option at any time by sending us written notification to ensure that we remove your personal information from our database.

When third parties will be provided with your information?

If, part of our service to you who receives support and maintenance from HSA, which relates to third party products, we will only then provide your personal information to such entities which would be necessary to provide you with the support and maintenance as per the agreement.

Regular auditing of Personal Information

Information will be kept until it is outdated or no longer required, after which time it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.
HSA will regularly review files and destroy or delete personal information that is no longer required.

Monitoring of inappropriate usage of email

Under HSA's Email and Internet Usage Policy, HSA uses scanning software to scan email for content that may be in the breach of the email policy. If you send content of this nature to an employee of HSA via email, depending on the nature of the content, it will be dealt with in accordance with HSA's Email and Internet Usage Policy. This includes potential quarantine and deletion of email.

Storage of your personal information

The information submitted may be stored inside databases accessible by employees who have a need to know such information.

All HSA employees and all contractors follow a firm wide security policy. Only authorised HSA personnel are provided access to personally identifiable information and these employees have agreed to ensure confidentiality of this information.

Access and correction

HSA will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information we collect, hold and use is accurate and up to date. You may request access to your personal information you should contact our Privacy Officer who will need to verify your identity before processing your request.

HSA may impose a moderate charge to cover the cost of providing the personal information.

HSA may seek to rely upon the exceptions contained in the Privacy Act 1988 to refuse access to a whole or a part of your personal information, but in such circumstances will provide you with written reasons for doing so.
